Here is the view of Phi Phi from the balcony of our hotel room! Phi Phi is the island that was most affected by the 2004 tsunami. Most everything has been rebuilt by this point and the tourists have returned in droves. Still trying to recover financially, Phi Phi hotels/restaurants charge the highest prices of anywhere in Thailand. I've also heard that electricity on Phi Phi costs 3 times as much as electricity on the mainland. It is still very cheap by Western standards, but it's a bit of a shock now that I've become accustomed to paying $15 for a night's accommodation.
