Gobble, Gobble

Happy Thanksgiving, dear readers!!

Alas, there is no holiday for me to celebrate in New Zealand. No stuffing, no cranberry sauce, no football. It is very difficult and expensive to buy a turkey. Pumpkin pie doesn't exist here either. A girl recently asked me if I ever ate pumpkin pie in America. Well of course! She asked, "But how do they make it sweet?" I don't know? Add sugar.
I'm no Betty Crocker, but you can see that I gave it my best shot last year. My delicious eggnog/pumpkin pie was the most photographed dessert in the history of Thanksgivings. I wore an apron for cripe's sake! I could make the perfect little housewife! Are you listening, young Kiwi male?

So no holiday for me, but no shortage of things to be grateful for this year... including wonderful family and friends like you!

Hey Mo- Happy Thanksgiving. Hop on a plane- we're eating at 4 tomorrow :) For our entertainment, we're giving Zoe solid food for the first time (rice cereal, not pumpkin pie).

As I can see it is already tomorrow where you are, so Happy Thanksgiving even without the calories. I say, who needs pumpkin pie if you have tim tams?

Happy Thanksgiving! Since you aren't here I made a pumpkin cheesecake. I'm sure it won't live up to your pie, but it will have to do.

Megan's pumpkin cheese cake was very very good.... I don't think we have any photographic evidence that she made one, though... My first Coyne thanksgiving was all I could ask for and more. Next year: MEGAN vs. MAUREEN IN THE GREAT AMERICAN BAKE-OFF.
